|Pacific City, aka PC, is a popular family vacation destination located 24 miles south of Tillamook and 22 miles north of Lincoln City. Here you will find beautiful beaches in the shadow of Cape Kiwanda and capped by Haystack Rock just offshore. PC is known for viewing fishing dories (traditional fishing boats) on the beach, amazing, glimmering sunsets and dramatic Pacific storms crashing onto the sandy shores. PC is an ideal location for bicycling, with bike paths through town; and canoeing, kayaking and|
PC has three popular beach accesses. The beach access chosen by most beachgoers is adjacent to the Cape Kiwanda parking lot at the northern end of PC. There you will find easier access for vehicles (including the dory launchers). The ramp from the parking lot down to the water should be easy access for handicapped and wheelchairs (they then become beach chairs). This is also where you will find the Cape Kiwanda Marine Gardens with tidal pools and interesting sandstone formations. PC's second beach access is located in downtown PC and welcomes both pedestrians and vehicles. This downtown beach access can be reached by crossing the bridge over the Big Nestucca River and following Pacific Ave to where it ends at the sand dunes. Bob Straub Park, at the south end of PC, has trails throughout the park and pedestrian beach access that leads to "the spit" formed over time by the Big Nestucca River. After a fun-filled day in PC, visit one of PC's restaurants for fine dining.
